Living Room Update – One Room Challenge Week 2
Here we are at Week 2 of the One Room Challenge! Last week, I shared with you my mood board and plan for our living room update. Now, I’m sharing with you a bit of progress!

Okay, so this may not look like progress exactly, but this is how I start updating spaces. I remove as much furniture and artwork that I can! I love having a clean slate and it helps me see how spaces might function differently.

(Part of my design journey includes sourcing great products and sharing them with you! Naturally, some of my content includes affiliate links, which means, at no additional cost to you, I may earn a commission if you click through and purchase. This commission supports my coffee and plant addiction and allows me to write more content and support our family, so thank you!)

I’ve got plans for this piano here. It weighs a ton (literally, I think it might be a ton) and this wall is the only wall where it can fit in our house. So, basically, I’m designing the entire space around this thing.
We found it years ago for free on Craigslist and although I love the shape, I’m not a huge fan of the dark cherry wood. My husband is the only one who plays in our house (he’s really good!) and has agreed to let me paint it.

I’ll be using the same Rustoleum Milk Paint in Eclipse that I used to update this dresser a few weeks back. This is essentially my new favorite paint and you probably can’t keep me from painting every other random piece of furniture I’ve found at barns sales now!
I think the deep black will create the contrast that I’m always looking for in a space and will change the mood of the entire living room update!

And, in what also feels very much like progress to me, I’ve selected these wall sconces to be installed on the walls right next to the fireplace. Stay tuned!
