5 Easy DIY Advent Calendars
I’ve gone and done it again! Every year I promise myself I will start early and create an advent calendar well before December first. But, here we are, closing out November and I’m scrambling! With just a few days left, I’ve gathered up some of my favorite simple, beautiful DIY advent calendars that we can whip up in no time.
I’m all about making the most of what you already have. Whether you’re into modern minimalism, rustic farmhouse vibes, or something totally eclectic, these projects are designed to fit right in. Plus, they’re great because you can repurpose these ideas all year long to refresh your space without breaking the bank.
Much like my Essential Holiday Gift Guide, I chose simple advent calendars that are a little bit modern, minimal, and neutral. This makes them easy to incorporate into any home!

Easy DIY Advent Calendars

1. Branch Calendar
I think I might be able to make this simple beauty with easy to find branches & greenery. I usually grab extra from the yard or Christmas tree farm. Plus, simple the black tags are also perfect for gift wrapping. I love how this calendar is a perfect mix of organic and modern!

2. Greenery Advent
Another greenery branch option this time a little more rustic with natural wood pieces you could reuse every year. I love how natural and vintage this feels with the wood tags. If you’re going for more Scandinavian vibes, I’d use a fir branch and keep the tag labels simple.

3. Clothesline Chalkboard Frame
This easy DIY advent calendar would be a great way to use an old frame. This one has a chalkboard I believe, but you could easily create the same look with black paper or use a geometric wallpaper for a modern look. The little strings with small clothespins is a super simple method – if I were making this, I’d make a cute design on the back of each number, like a tree, to flip over as you countdown the days.

4. Paper Bag Advent
Little wrapped paper gift bags? Genius! This countdown would be easy to re-create, antlers or not! I’ve made a similar count down to Christmas with paper bags strung along twine on an empty wall. I added little number tags like the ones above with a little treat or message inside each one.

5. Grain Sifter Advent Calendar
Such a clever use of grain sifters for a farmhouse inspired calendar. I could see this also working with a woven basket tray for a more boho vibe. The tiny muslin bags are super sweet – it would be really fun to fill each one with a little ornament or note.
Final Thoughts
I hope this rounded up of DIY advent calendars gets you inspired.
