Etsy Mother’s Day Gift Ideas for the Home
As a single mom, one of my favorite types of gifts is one that my boys have given me for the home. This means I get to walk by and be reminded by their sweetness every day (even when they’re not here)! You said you used less than the 1:2 ratio paint/water. What did you use? I think I am gonna take a leap here but want to do it correctly. Also, when you wipe it do you wipe as soon as you paint that brick or after a section or after the first layer? Did you wipe w a certain type of cloth? Wet or dry? I love how yours turned out so I want to know exactly what you did. Thank you!
Hi Tara, thanks for your message. Let me see if I can help. We completed this project a couple of years ago so I don’t recall all of the details beyond what is included in the post. Whitewashing is a more of an art than science so things are not exact. I would say we used something closer to 1:3 parts paint/water. We started with the 1:2 and added more water from there. Yes, we used a large, soft sponge to wipe off section by section (maybe 3′ x 3′ sections at a time). Hope this helps!
