My Top 6 Etsy Home Decor Shops

In what seems like a lifetime ago, I created handmade bags and ran an Etsy shop. This gave me flexibility and a creative outlet when my boys were really small. Although that chapter has closed, I still return to Etsy again and again to shop for quality home decor pieces with a story behind them. In fact, many of the special pieces from our home are created by a small businesses. I love supporting people who are making things and running their own shops. Not only does it just feel better than mass produced decor, it makes the home feel most authentic. Here, I have rounded up my top 6 Etsy home decor shops to visit and save.

Why do I love handmade shops so much? Well, I think it’s important to include home decor pieces that tell a story. Maybe it’s inspired by a special place or woven by hand, the items add add layers that make a home feel special. Some of my favorite Etsy shops have come and gone over the years. Here are some of my favorites, updated:

1. Watercolor Art Prints

When choosing art, I love a good black and white print. They look great in almost any frame and easily slide into a space. One of my very favorites is this watercolor Black Birds Art Print from Fox Hollow Studios, located in Fort Worth, Texas. This specific print is actually part of a set that would look so pretty framed in a row.

The artist behind Fox Hollow Studios, Tabitha, creates really lovely, simply watercolors all inspired by nature. In addition to birds, I also have a few of her tree and cactus prints. Over the years, I’ve corresponded with her a few times and found her to be extremely kind and friendly. This interaction makes me love my prints even more!

2. Modern Plant Stands

You know I love my plants! For me, no room is complete without a bit of greenery. And when spaces need a bit of height, a plant stand is one of my favorite solutions. While there are many options out there, I love the stands from this Etsy shop, My Saratoga Style.

These simple mid-century inspired plant stands from are the perfect mix of warm wood and classic shape. Plus, they even include the pot so there’s no need to worry about whether something will fit. I’ve ordered a few times and they shipped quickly from New York.

3. Turkish Towels

Can you ever have enough hand towels? Not in our house you can’t. I’m always on the hunt for absorbent yet pretty ones and the Turkish towels from The Longest Thread are some of my very favorites! I’ve gone back recently and it looks like their hand towel are low in stock. However, they still offer their larger Turkish Bath Towels.

These larger towels are so soft, I’m actually using it as a light blanket in our living room. I’ve actually found these larger sizes to be super versatile – using them on my porch to stay cozy in the evenings and also wrapped around the Christmas tree base. I’ve worked with the owner, Mehmet, a few times over the years and find him to be absolutely charming.

4. Amber Bottle Dispensers

You might’ve noticed these pretty amber bottles from The Polished Jar in a few places around my home. I love them so much I use them in all the bathrooms and kitchens. I’ve moved a few times over the years, and these bottles have looked great in every space. Most bathrooms and kitchen lack warmth and the deep amber colors of the bottles is one of my favorites ways of layering that in. I love the amber and brass combo for the bit of warmth it adds to a space!

The Polished Jar offers really simple, minimal labels and a variety of bottle and dispenser colors. Not only do I love the designs, but the owner, Suzanne, is such a delight as well! She is quick to respond, super helpful, and every order has arrived in perfect condition.

5. Neutral Throw Pillows

Pillows are pretty much the easiest (and most affordable way to update a room), these neutral pillow covers from the Linen & Cloth are one of my very favorites – they seem to fit right in anywhere in our home. Based in California, I love how this shop curates pillow collections, making it easier to shop and order.

While my particular set is no longer available, my two favorite prints: the Black Cross and the Neutral & Black Stripe still are! I’d say their prints now lean towards Transitional and Decor styles, so while that’s not my particular style, the quality is unmatched. I may have to try their Outdoor Pillows for our patio furniture soon.

5. Wood Picture Ledge

Photo ledges above the couch are one of my very favorite ways of styling that empty wall space. It’s an easy way to create a low commitment photo gallery. And while, I’ve handmade a wood ledge in the past, this shelf from Rowe Station Woodworks is a true beauty.

They’re one of my favorited Etsy home decor shops as they consistently create high quality wood ledges in a variety of options. I ordered their Maple Floating Ledge choosing a size proportionate for my couch. It arrived in beautiful shape with easy instructions. Rowe Station was a pleasure to work with at all points. Not only does this ledge bring a lot of warmth to this space but it makes it easy to switch out my art work on the regular!

Final Thoughts on Etsy Home Decor Shops

While these are some of my very favorite home decor Etsy shops, no list would be complete without mentioning my brother’s Shelf Bracket shop, Cascade Iron Co. For the record, I work there with him too helping with styling, but he’s the true powerhouse, building this shop over ten years ago!

I hope this list is helpful in choosing handmade or curated home decor. I’ve created a few other Etsy focused lists including Hosting Gifts and Kitchen Gifts. And, if you’re interested authentic styling, check out my post making The Case for Imperfect Home Styling.
